Welcome to the Sheffield Number Theory group website.

The interests of the Number Theory group are centred on the cohomology of arithmetic groups, arithmetic of automorphic forms, automorphic representations and their congruences, Galois representations and their modularity, arithmetic geometry, and the Bloch-Kato conjecture on values of L-functions.

Conference for early career researchers
Ciaran Schembri and Ariel Weiss have been awarded LMS funding to host a conference in Sheffield on 8/9 November 2018 aimed at young researchers (PhD students and postdocs) working in algebraic number theory and arithmetic geometry. For more information and registration please see Y-RANT.
New member of group
Adel Betina recently joined our group as a research associate on the project Deformations of Saito-Kurokawa type Galois representations. Adel completed his PhD in Lille in 2016 and had a postdoc position in Barcelona prior to coming here. His research interests include Shimura varieties, p-adic Hodge theory and p-adic eigenvarieties.
