Welcome to the Sheffield Number Theory group website.

The interests of the Number Theory group are centred on the cohomology of arithmetic groups, arithmetic of automorphic forms, automorphic representations and their congruences, Galois representations and their modularity, Langland programme, arithmetic geometry, and the Bloch-Kato conjecture on values of L-functions.

Summer School: K-theory and Representation Theory (19-23 July 2021)
This is the summer school part of the LMS-INI-Bath Symposium on K-theory and Representation Theory. In this summer school, we will cover material that is foundational to the upcoming symposium, namely, representation theory of real and p-adic Lie groups, the theory of C*-algebras and operator K-theory, and finally the method of "Dirac Induction" which brings the above together by employing Dirac operators in the study of representations.
